And the Cubs finally got right of Milton Bradley. The Mariners took him and gave us Carlos Silva and cash. Hopefully that means Byrd or Pods will sign a contract with the Cubs.

Cubs and Carlos Zambrano's people are refuting today's New York Post story that Cubs and Yankees have talked about a trade of Big Z to New York.

Forget for a minute that the Cubs' starting pitching depth is in question -- at least to start the season -- because of Ted Lilly's recent shoulder surgery.

At least as big a deal: Zambrano has a full no-trade clause and has no desire to go anywhere else.

Furthermore, ``Jim has not approached us about Carlos waiving the no-trade provision of his contract, nor is Carlos interested in waiving it,'' said Zambrano's agent, Barry Praver, via e-mail.

Free-agent pitcher Jason Marquis has agreed to a two-year, $15 million contract with the Washington Nationals, sources confirmed to ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney on Monday.

The deal is pending a physical.

Marquis went 15-13 with a 4.04 ERA in 33 starts for the Colorado Rockies last season. In his 10-year career, during which every team he has been on has made the postseason, he is 94-83 with a 4.48 ERA.

Mark DeRosa signed a two year deal with the San Francisco Giants.

Matt Holliday reportedly turned down a six year contract offer from the Cardinals this past week worth at least 100 million dollars. Fuck Scott Boras.

Word is that Matt Holliday and the Cardinals are getting closer to signing a new contract. The reported new offer is 8 years and $140 million dollars...making it the largest contract the Cardinals have ever offered...again. They've offered him three of those already.

Just wait and see what they do with Albert's contract...

P.S. Fuck Scott Boras. Can't say that enough.

Hey if you got Boras as an agent you know his guys are be coming in demanding the top dollar and then some.........just ask the Nats. I really like the way we're spending this off-season and I'm hoping it all leads to positive results next year.

Reports indicate Jason Bay is heading to the Mets for 4 years worth $66 million pending a physical.

Cubs signed their centerfielder and Byrd is a Cub for the next three years.

The Giants picked up Mark Derosa.

The Cardinals FINALLY signed Matt Holliday to a seven year, $120 million contract.

Randy Johnson has announced his retirement from baseball.

I like the signing of Holliday, but the Cards are really relying on some young outfielders at this point.

The question is who we'd be able to afford with Holliday and Pujols contracts.

The question is...who's shocked?

I think it's about time he came clean though.

The Nationals agree to terms with former Yankees pitcher Chein-Ming Wang. The deal is reportedly worth $2 million for one season. I sure wish we had enough to keep him around for the long run, but at the same time I guess this is because we want to see if he can stay healthy and give us a solid season that is something close to what he provided for two years in the Bronx.

And Milton Bradley is blaming Chicago for all his troubles...I hope like hell he tanks with the M's and they send him packing when he tosses a ball into the stands with one out.
