Well Free Agency started and here go the Hawks, the Salary capped strapped Blackhawks. _________________

So we win the Stanley Cup and proceed to trade Ladd, Byfuglien, Sopel, Eager, Versteeg, and let Burish go.
But what the hell is wrong with Calgary? Ollie again? _________________

The Hawks let Niemi go and have signed Marty Turco. Not sure I'm liking the fact that we have completely dismantled this team sans, Hossa, Toews, KANE, Keith, Sharp, Seabrook, Campbell, Hjalmmerson, and some rookies. _________________

I like the move of Turco, Dale Tallon left this team in cap hell and I think Bowman has done a great job of keeping the core of the team together. The only guy I am going to miss is Andrew Ladd.
Niemi wasnt worth the 2.75 million the Hawks would have to pay him, we are getting Turco for almost 1.5 million cheaper, and he had just about the same save % while playing in front of a crappier Defense.....Turco most likely will see 8-10 less SOG per game playing with the Hawks this season. _________________ Jon

I agree with you Jon. I like the move too. I know Zito is lying about the Hawks not offering Niemi a multi year contract. I have a couple friends that work with him or in his neck of the woods and he pulled the first contract off the table which would have doubled Niemi's salary from this year and then gradually went up over 4 years. Also, the move allows us some wiggle space for Seabrook and Sharp. _________________
