Ubaldo Jimenez pitched the first no-hitter in Rockies history in a 4-0 victory over the Atlanta Braves.

The New York Mets outlasted the St. Louis Cardinals in a 20 inning classic in STL. Jose Reyes hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the 20th to put the Mets ahead 2-1 for the win. Closer Francisco Rodriguez got the win, starting pitcher Mike Pelfrey got the save and Cardinals OF Joe Mather recorded the loss. Both IF Felipe Lopez and OF Joe Mather took the mound for STL in the loss.

(Rolent sez: fucking Ryan Ludwick. If he didn't try to steal second in the 19th inning, Pujols would have gotten him home and we would have ended up winning 2-1 instead of only tying that inning.)

Alex Rodriguez hit the 584th home run of his career surpassing Mark McGuire for sole posession of eighth on the all time HR list.

I'd never thought I would be saying this but how about those Nationals! At this point, they seemed to have gotten more of a winner's mentality and their pitching and defense has become a staple rather than a liability as it has in previous years. They are four games over 500 for the first time since 2006. They're actually not scoring like they did last year, but with the manager Riggleman sticking it to them and stressing making plays to prevent runs, I'm willing to bet the hitting will come around soon. My big question is can they keep this up when they face the beasts of the National League and the American League when interleague play comes around........

I know it's been a while since I touched the MLB thread, but I need to get something off my chest here.

Bob Brenly, Chicago Cubs announcer, goes on the air and is questioning every move Pinella makes. I'm sick and tired of this, the Cubs are not a good team at all this year, hell we've sucked since they trade Mark DeRosa. Now we have an accouncer telling the world how fundamentally bad this team is and castrates them every second he gets a chance to. I think the Ricketts family inherited a mess and if the announcer thinks he is the best man to manage this mess, they need to fire Lou and put Brenly in charge or give Lou a vote of confidence and get rid of Brenly. Undermining a team that is struggling is not a good thing.

They should fired Brenly. If you're a fan, you're a fan through thick and thin. You can admit when something sucks, but to ride a team into the ground as an announcer is just sad. Besides, as crappy as the team has been, at least they did something right in the Carlos Silva/ Milton Bradley trade. Now let's see if the team makes it intact through the year for if there ends up being a fire sale.

Cursing it. I know I really shouldn't do this because I'm having some problems typing because of the case of carpal tunnel syndrome I currently have, but here goes.

I said at the beginning of the year, this team still lacked character and the Cubs should ditch Zambrano to the Yankees or Red Sox, whichever one calls first.

Zambrano shows up to spring trainging with the same old song and dance...I'm more mature, I've changed, I'm more of a man...etc, etc, etc.

Anout 4 pitching performances into the season and he has nothing on his fastball, his slider is being tipped off, and his change up is weak. He gets rocked and is sent to the bullpen to find his stuff...which he didn't do.

He comes back to the rotation and win 2-4 games he pitches in. His ERA is over 5.50 and he just doesn't have it.

Now mechanically he is struggle, the back isn't bending correctly and his arm looks dead. I truly believe the doctors who are handling him don't know what the fuck they are doing, because it's his upper back where the problem is coming from, not the lower back which is what they are treating...trust me I know this I've ran into him twice at the doctor's office, because I'm going for therapy for two torn rotator cuffs and carpel tunnel. If you don't believe me look at my facebook profile. I'm friends with several of the doctors at the pain clinic.

But I digress. Yesterday wasn't a complete embarassment. It was the volcano waiting to erupt. 7 times in 5 season Zambrano has pulled this shit. He punched Barrett in the dugot after a poor outing, went three rounds with the Gatorade machine last year, not once, but twice. He went after Henry Blanco after allowing a game typing homer three years ago, then acted like nothing was wrong, do you see a pattern yet?

He is an overpaid asshole that needs a new team that can babysit him or at least put up with his antics...maybe Seattle can take Zambrano off our hands? The Ricketts family needs to make up their minds and do something quick, or leave everything alone and just clean house in the offseason. Get a new manager, trade everyone you can that is under contract, and see what the Colvins in the minor leagues can bring to the table.

Zambrano needs to go and honestly, whichever team ends up with him, I wish them luck. Zambrano is a headcase and no one will ever change this man's behavior, especially himself because he got the money and now he isn't worth the pots we piss in.

Fire Hendry, Fire Lou, Trade Zambrano, Trade Ramirez, Trade Theriot, Trade Soriano, Trade Fukudome, keep Lilly, Dempster, Lee and find some character players. Hendry has brought in Milton Bradley, dealt Derosa, and has done nothing to help the clubhouse and this is too much. Zambrano has a no trade clause. Hendryu signed that contract too. He either is oblivous to the crap happening in the dugout, or wants to be fired.

Note to the Ricketts family: You didn't realize you just brought hell and it's a lot hotter there than the way the Cubs are playing. Do the above and save you investment.

Oh by the way, the Cubs attendance is down this year...gosh, I wonder why?

I got a feeling a lot of those players will go. Zambrano is definitely gone. Lee, Fukodome and the such I believe might get traded if the Cubs don't turn it around this season. They may as well get something of worth back instead of trying to resign them all.

The "indefinite" suspension ends tomorrow, but he goes on the MLB restriction list and will be out until All Star Break and he needs to under go anger management classes.
